I have wanted an expresso type maker for quite a while - Trying to make mind up about which model for a while and colour. Has more than lived upto expectations. Very easy to use - Still havn't tried out pods with it - Wanted this model as it had both options. Very retro looking which I like and have turquoise colour which was one of the main things I like about it. Not sure how it compares to others as I have only used filter type makers beforehand. Only disadvange not able to get full size mug underneath, but I have small mugs which is good as some can only fit small cups.
I bought the Icona coffee maker as I always buy coffee when out, so I wanted the same at home.Makes espresso, capuchino, latte, all very easy to do.You do need to keep it clean, but it is a small price to pay. The best thing is that you can make the perfect cup of coffee at home, just like the one from high street outlets. The only dislike is the small gap between the outlet and the tray, you can only use small cups or mugs, but you can take out the tray. this is not a problem but an inconvenience. I would definately buy again. Cannot compare to others , as I have not purchased a similar product.
I bought this machine as I love good coffee and was spending a lot of money buying from high street coffee shops. It has taken me a while to get used to how much coffee to use and loading it properly but am really pleased that it takes pods and I can use my own preferred brand of coffee. It also heats up the milk as I prefer hot milk to keep the coffee hot. I like the look of the machine, and it doesn't take up a lot of room. The person I bought it from was very quick to deliver and sent a second when I had a problem with the first one he sent me. I didn't want to buy a machine that only took the pods needed for the machine. I have discovered a few brands to try for this machine, plus my own brand.
Comes with a European power plug but it's very easy to find small cheap adapters to fit UK/ROI sockets. Machine heats up in a few minutes and makes excellent espresso. Steam wand works a treat also. All in all, very good for the price.

I decided to buy this as I was tired of poor tasting, instant coffee. I loved the colour of the machine and the fact that it is compact. It's really easy to use (even my husband has mastered it), it's easy to clean and looks great. There is nothing about it I don't like, except that it doesn't do the washing up! Love it!
