This is the very 1st Deep Purple album.Too bad Blackmore had to kick Rod Evans (singer) out. Now he's a doctor in NY ,I believe....But anyway....This line-up had lot more Chorus for group than mark II line-up , which most people think was the 1st line-up.....just most popular line-up. It's hard to burn this cd out like it is to get tired of mark II material. The hit song is "Hush". The 1st song is a great instrumental "And the Address". There are 2 copy songs, "Help" (The Beatles), they almost make it their own , and "Hey Joe" (Jimi Hendrix) , it's not bad...but it's not great. All in all,the cd is great if you like late 60's style music. The remasters all have Bonus tracks (outtakes , live cuts).Out takes are usually good , like 'Shadows',it's a very good song, just curious to know why it wasn't on original album. Rod Evans did only 3 albums with DP before the boot, and they are the 3 BEST Deep Purple albums, they are very underrated.Just my opinion. In all my cd's,over 900, these 3 cds are some of my most favorite....... If you like Deep Purple , Mark I / Mark II, check out early Uriah Heep - 'Demons and Wizards' or is it 'Wizards and Demons' (most popular cd for them) Thank You for your timeRead full review
