Though I advised otherwise, my customer was adamant about the repair of his beloved DELL laptop. With the board I purchased at your eBay store, the task was completed. I felt that the expenditure was justified. However, as expected, I (my customer) inherited the problems which have plagued owners of this model DELL laptop since its release. But, to see my customer joyfully sit behind and continue to use his rebuilt system, that was enough for me.

Within the first year, the charger died, battery died, then it stopped charging altogether- I figured out it was the DC power jack, which is separate from the mobo, so fortunately I didn't have to spend more than $8.00 to fix it myself. The wifi card had a bad connection and it kept cutting out randomly. Also, it has weak hinge mounts(only one of mine remains and I've always babied it) and I have to keep the on-screen keyboard open if i want to type a "b" "v" or "x." Not to mention the E-shaped metal pieces inside the memory bay that broke free and rattled around inside. I had to completely disassemble the laptop to remove them, or risk creating a short. Very sub-premium build quality! Shame on you, Dell.
This machine runs Windows 10 just fine. You will just have to update the bios to the latest release for the Video driver to work. Other than that it even finds all of its own drivers automatically. Bump it up to an i7 quad with 16gb Ram Then you will have a great running fast laptop that will blow most new ones out of the water. Be careful with the lid and hinges This is the only weak point on the whole machine. If you are in need of a laptop for school or home this is a great one. But is not a gamer.
