Dell PowerEdge 1850 1U rack-mount server, ideal for a terminal server, web server, etc. Has been freshly reinstalled with Windows Server 2003, Microsoft license sticker present and correct on the lid. This was running Server 2008 R2 and would be quite capable of doing so again, if so desired.

Specifications as per the picture, two dual core processors, 2GB RAM (2x1GB). Perc 4 controller, 2 x Seagate Cheetah 146GB 10,000 RPM SCSI drives in a hardware RAID-1 (mirror) configuration. Single power supply, space for 2nd redundant PSU. Built-in DRAC (Dell remote access controller), for out-of-band remote access to server. Two on-board GB ethernet controllers.

Notes:
  • Monitor, keyboard and mouse are not included, just there for the photo to prove it runs OK
  • CD/DVD drive is missing. No idea where it went. I installed the server from a USB CD drive. Easily replaceable and cheap enough on E-bay
  • Allegedly the front monitor connector does not work. I don't know - the rear one works fine, as shown in the photo.
Server is too bulky and heavy to post, so collection from West Midlands, or I would deliver up to about 25 miles from Kidderminster at a cost of 40p/mile (round-trip).

Update - have had a hunt around in the server room and found some extra goodies to tease your tastebuds...

  • Server now has 4GB RAM, not 2, which makes it much snappier and is the max amount that Windows 2003 Standard can use
  • Monitor, keyboard and mouse ARE now included, at least the ones in the additional pic are.
  • Front clip-on cover - never used
  • Cable arm, to keep all those cables neat and tidy in your rack. Includes the little fibre optic warning light thingy
  • BRAND NEW, set of Dell 1U rack mounting rails - boxed and unopened
  • Used power distribution bar, designed for rack.
