The Draytek Vigor 2800 series is packed with loads of features. The basic setup on the 2820 is straight forward and you can be online with your UK ADSL provide in no time at all. Port forwarding and uPnP settings are fairly easy to adjust. As mentioned in one of the reviews above, some of the advanced features of the 2820 are quite difficult to setup via the Web UI, but a freely downloadable PDF Manual and very good FAQ/Support via the Draytek website will have you up and running in to time. Pros: Extensive URL/Keyword filtering, Multiple WAN SSID's, PPTP/L2TP/IPSEC VPN modes, USB HDD sharing support, Load Balancing. Cons: Advanced features difficult to setup, Status lights and network ports on same side (Front) Overall these routers are very powerful with great support from Draytek. I have installed 3 of these, 2 on LAN-to-LAN VPN connecting to offices, and one at home. I have a second Wireless SSID for my son and his friends with limited bandwidth, and decent Wireless range.Read full review
I bought this product for enhanced wireless performance at home. It arrived on time and was as described. So far it has worked well and is much better than our old router.
As I have come to know Draytek only supply the very best equipment and this router is following in the footsteps of their long list of distinguished product
Nice and easy to manage, great support from Draytek (software and firmware downloads), very reliable product.
I have a specific use for this router, I use it to provide VPN for VOIP telephones using a 3G/4G usb modem. It is ideal for this specific task when updated to the latest 3.7.5 firmware. As far as using it as a normal router, it has a very complicated setup and the benefits of using the router at home don't exist. This is a specialist piece of equipment that meets the requirements I have but is not worth the effort of setting up if you just want a standard modem/internet router.
