Dressing table/ trinket tray from the Art Deco period in uranium green glass. I have tried to find an exact similar whilst researching but have been unable to find a specific maker, although I have found very similar trays by both Walther and Reich, so I am guessing it is either Czech or German. Any information will be welcomed, please just drop me a line.
It is typical in design of the Art Deco period and features a bold geometric pattern and a fluted outer rim. The piece has no damage at all and is as near new condition as you’ll ever get with very few signs of usage over the years and it displays very well. It originally would have come complete with candlesticks, a couple of glass containers and a ring tidy. This tray measures 11 ½” (290mm) in length and 8 1/8” (205mm) wide. Again these metric measurements support the likelihood of it being a foreign piece. Would look great on any dressing table, new or old. A really great item in very good condition. It looks fantastic under U.V. light.
Please visit my shop, Retrospectrum, and see my other items as I have all sorts for sale including other retro and glass collectables and I can easily combine postage charges. Collection in person is always welcome.
If any overseas bidders are interested I would be grateful if you would contact me in the first instance for a price on postage as the postal charges quoted above relate to UK only.
Due to the stupidly high price hike by the “Unloyal Mail” that came into effect from April 2nd 2013 I have no option other than to send by alternative means, either My Hermes or Collect Plus. Unfortunately this may mean that parcels may take a little longer to arrive than normal so please be patient. I would appreciate your comments about the quality of these services once your parcel has been delivered. I can always send any item by “Unloyal” or courier if you need it faster.
AUSTRALIA, U.S.A. AND EUROPE
I am always happy to send abroad but in accordance with E-Bay recommendations I only send abroad using Worldwide International Signed For Services to avoid any packages "not arriving" or being "broken" upon arrival. This unfortunately has happened before (and nearly always when sending abroad) so unfortunately it is a case of "Once bitten, forever shy" in respect of cheaper postage options.
I have no problems sending abroad but I have recently had some bad experiences with sending goods to Australia, (particularly the Victoria area!) and have had two items arrive broken although both were very well wrapped. I have only ever had one item arrive in Britain damaged (out of hundreds so I now always worry about sending this far (I don't know if it is air pressure during flight or heavy handed postmen to blame). I want to make certain any item is securely wrapped for protection. If over two kilos the price varies considerably as it has to be sent via courier and can be totally prohibitive. Please ask.
Thank you very much for looking and if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. As always…
