I’m looking for a new rider to take on my Ducati 749S. Originally I had the bike up at a higher price but from my research on Autotrader today I've adjusted it to £5,650.
This is the limited edition Nero model that was released at the very end of the 749S production run. In excellent condition, in gloss black, with white racing boards front and rear; I’m the third owner and purchased it from Ducati Wolverhampton.
In January 2014 the bike received a full service and MOT; this included new timing belts, oil & filter change, new fuel & air filters, plus clutch stripped & checked. New tyres (Michelin Pilot 2CT's) have been recently fitted along with a new CTEK battery charger; tax runs until end of January 2015.
This is a November 2006 model so comes with the upgraded fairing, electronics system, and swing arm plus a few extra BHP. Earlier models with the grey swing arm are not the same specification as this later model.
The bike has a full Termignoni exhaust system that sounds fantastic, Marchesini wheels, a carbon rear hugger and carbon exhaust pipe shield, plus a tail tidy and a smaller plate; the original exhaust system is also available. You’ll see from the photos that I have fitted a new Sargent seat; this retails at £250 so the original Ducati seat will be installed, as I’ll aim to eBay the Sergeant seat post-sale.
All documentation is available including V5, Ducati manuals, service booklet and MOT history. The ride on this 749S is sublime; I’m amazed just how much torque the 749 V-Twin engine has. The handling is precise, the bike feels agile and poised, and being a Ducati is light and easy to maneuver. Unfortunately, my old back injury is back I have to face facts and go "up-right" instead.
I caught up today with the Sales Manager of my local Ducati Dealership whom I've known for years. For peace of mind, he's happy to take a call from a serious bidder and vouch for how rare this bike is, it's superb condition, and how well I look after my bikes.
