Hi all,

Up for sale is my much loved Ducati which I bought in early 2011. This bike is the actual bike Neil Hodgson rode around Donnington Park before the WSBK round last summer and subsequently featured in MCN. Video below and pics above, I do have the original photos that were used as MCN very kindly sent me copies which I can forward on.

The bike has a great service history detailed below:

Service Coupon A - 09/04/02 @ 658 miles - Stamped in book from Speedaway with receipt.

Service Coupon B - 27/03/03 @ 4048 miles - Stamped in book from Speedaway with receipt.

Service - 09/03/05 - No stamp just receipt for service from SPR racing in Nottinghamshire.

Service Coupon C + Belts - 08/07/05 @ 7176 miles - Stamped in book from East Midland Superbike.

Service Coupon D - 02/10/06 @ 8331 miles - Stamped in book from Italia Moto.

Service Coupon E - 23/04/08 @ 9800 miles - Stamped in book from Ducati Manchester with receipt.

Service + Belts - 11/09/10 - From Mands Motorcycles - No stamp only a receipt which is why I made sure Robinsons did a full belt service (below) before I bought the bike.

Service + Belts - 13/04/11 @ 11400 miles - Stamped in new book (old was full!) from Robinsons with receipt

I also had a new reconditioned starter motor fitted on 04/05/11 from MD Racing at a cost of 600. She now starts by the slightest touch on the motor hot or cold, I also fitted a new batt shortly before as I thought that could of been the reason it was not firing up first time.

Few more details on the bike:

- Currently sorned as I have not renewed insurance.

- 12100 miles

- Full termi system and chip.

- Taller screen.

- Lots of carbon.

- MOT till 03/05/12.

- Datatool alarm fitted, I tend to put into service mode when I leave the bike as it does go off with the slightest movement/breeze etc. Will remove at next service if I keep the bike as the batt is not kept in it anyhow.

- Data tag.

- As I have no power in my garage I keep the battery inside on charge when the bike is not in use.

- Sadly I also bought a minichamps version of the bike for my mantelpiece along with a signed photo of the bike (slightly different paint job) which will come with the bike.

- All paper work correct and present, HPI clear.

Couple of minor negative points that I should point out,

Unfortunately the certificate has gone missing confirming that this is one of the 35 made of the Hodgson replica, I have however managed to get in contact with Colin Wright who was the owner of the GSE team who put me in touch with Mick at Ragedesigns who painted all the original bikes who confirmed it was an original which was good enough for me. I still have this email somewhere which I will copy below detailing the conversation I had with him. He did send a copy of the certificate which I am now trying to get another copy of as my stupid iphone managed to lose the attachment!?? If you also look at all the extras that the replica came with they are all present on this bike, it was also originally a yellow 996s biposto that all the GSE replicas started life as before rage designs got hold of them. I also have the original bill of sale that states that the bike ordered was a Hodgson rep for 13500 (the retailing price for a rep which is more than the standard obviously) and also stated in the Ducati original booklet for pre delivery inpection/warrenty etc.

GSE 996 Hodgson rep

Hi there,
Apologies for the mail, I have been put in contact with you through Colin Wright after trying to find out weather a 996 Hodgson I have recently bought is a original? He said as a last resort you may know what bikes you guys painted? I can send numbers over etc if its something you could help with. Many thanks for your time.
King regards,

There are also a few age related stone chips on the bike and a little of the lacquer is coming off the side of the fairing. It is very hard to notice even close up but it never bothered me as the bike is almost 10 years old now but wanted any potential buyers to be aware that is not like new.

Also worth a mention is the bulb to the temp gauge does not work but it is still visable at night so never really bothered me, also the bulb for the beam light needs replacing.

I have also done 1 track day at Cadwell on the bike so the tyres do show signs of this, I am no track legend so the bike was not abused but did perform faultlessly.

Also I do not have any of the original parts for the bike, they were not available when I bought the bike and only would have cluttered up the garage anyhow.

When I saw the service history of this bike it had obviously been looked after by people who are passionate and looked well loved so I was happy to buy. As mentioned I love this bike with the money spent on it and its great history so I won’t be giving it away, I will possibly looking for a more upright bike next thats a little more pillion friendly so if you have something you want to part exchange then ley me know. Would still consider other bikes if it helps with the sale.

Please don’t ask the reserve as I will not answer the mail, if you like the bike then have a bid. I will also require a 100 pound deposit from the winning bidder within 24hrs of aution ending and before collection. This will be non refundable, apologies to all the genuine ebayers but I have been messed around before. Please note these terms before bidding, only genuine ebayers please as I’m sure like you I am a busy person. Viewings are welcomed for interested parties but please let me know in advance to make sure it suits. Sorry for rambling but wanted to be as thorough as possible so viewers know as much about the bike as possible.

Any Q please fire away.

Thanks for looking,
