For sale here is my 2003 Ducati999S race bike. This motorcycle must not be confused with lots of 'race/track day' bikes that are for sale in that it's not some old crashed road bike that's had it's lights removed & race fairings fitted, this bike was built & raced by one of the most recognised UK Ducati race teams Moto Rapido. It was built to Superstock regulations with big bore full Termi' race exhaust system with ECU chipped accordingly and lots of Ducati Corse parts like slipper clutch, fully adjustable footrests & hangers, fuel filler cap and carbon fibre front mudguard & parts.
It also has 999R Ohlins 'gold nitride' front forks with radial mounted callipers squeezed by a Brembo radial master cylinder through braided brake hoses with a rear shock by Ohlins also. All the bodywork on this bike is brand new 'Works Type' fairings as used by Nori Haga back in 2003, these fairings differ from the run of the mill 999 fairings in that they are only 2 piece & take only seconds to fit & remove. (Very similar to GP250 fairings) All bodywork is finished in Ducati MotoGP pearl red and the paintjob is fit for the MotoGP or WSB grid, the finish really is that good, but don't forget that this is a race bike with lightweight race fairings and although this is fitted with top quality woven glass fibre that aren't quite up to the quality of the road bike bodywork.
Included in the sale is a pair of spare wheels with full wet weather tyres & some alternate rear sprockets for different circuits and odds and ends like spare front mudguard & seat cowling. The bike has a daylight MOT but in order to use it on the road it will need a horn re-fitting, a side stand & road legal treaded tyres as the bike is currently on slick's.
I raced this Ducati throughout 2010 and a couple of meetings in 2011, it's not been raced since June of that year. It has just had the valve clearances checked & had new cam belts fitted by a BSB mechanic so is ready to go with a brand new sealed battery. Every time I raced this bike at Aintree I won the Supertwin class & whilst most of the time there was only the odd Suzuki TL/SV1000 & Honda SP1/2 or Firestorm you can only race against what's out there but I did usually make the top 10 of the Superbike/Unlimited class races as well, this is with an old fat guy on board, with a younger fitter rider this bike will fly and will always sound fantastic.
There will be lots of things I've forgotten and will add anything relevant as I remember but if you have any questions please ask but I must add, no silly offers because it's worth a lot more than the starting price and if it doesn't make the starting price I'll keep it for 3 or 4 track days a year.
The picture of the bike in it's silver colour was from 2010 at Aintree, the bike was this colour when I bought it & I'd always intended to change it (back) to red and now I have.
