The item I had was refurbished with full Dyson two year warranty. I've previously owned two Dyson but this is my first purchase of the roller ball type. After opening box I realised that the fittings no longer clip to the unit and must be kept separately which I was a little disappointed at. But I can live with that. The unit is much lighter than my previous dc14 and the way it actually steers is incredible altjough initially takes some getting use to. As usual though In use there isn't any other vacuum cleaner on the market that picks up like this one which is why I'm on my third one now. Like I said I think it's only the lack of tool storage and a slightly shorter hose extension that let's it down everything else is better than any other brand on the market.

I've owned Dysons for many years & when my latest one gave up the ghost last year, I was bought a Vax which was ok but I craved for the ease of use of the Dyson so when I saw a refurbished one with 20% off I thought I would treat myself. I hadn't seen this type before so I was a bit shocked by it's flimsiness. It's very plasticky & doesn't seem as robust as my previous machines. I'm still coming to grips with the "ball" operation but I do like the ease of use of the tool extension which is what the Vax was missing. To be honest I much prefer the design of the older Dyson uprights I had, but no doubt I will get used to this one - I've only had it for a week! I've said it's reliable but I don't really know if it is or not as I haven't had it for long but the brand on the whole is very reliable to I have based my rating on that. The bin comes off the machine easily enough but I still haven't sussed out if there is a lever to open it to empty it so I've been using the tab at the bottom of it which is a bit messy but does the job.Read full review

Much heavier than I thought. But it is easy to use. Good to read the user's comment. I was careful when I first empty the container. Strictly followed the instruction. - So, no problem. Not to used to use the item yet. But sucking power is impressive. Very good value. I hope it would last a long time as some parts are made of plastic.

If you have thick or new carpet this hoover really doesn't work very well. The suction is so good it pulls the head to the carpet so much it's hard to move the hoover. This is in turn over heats the brush which then stops. I had to have a Dyson engineer who pulled some sealant out of the head for it to work. A simple adjust feature of length would resolve this issues, or state this in the description and point of sale. Really hard to move around too. If you have normal carpet or hard floors this is a great hoover.

Tremendous purchase at a bargain price. Tried two other well known brands since my last Dyson and disappointed with both of them . This choice is ideal. Lightweight, flexible and as you would expect, excellent at picking up the dust. Thoroughly recommend, the chore is now a pleasure!
