MARSHAL FROM WHISKEY SMITH
`1978 Severn House
GOOD EX-LIBRARY COPY
The dustwrapper is unclipped. Insert creases moderately heavy with smallish chunks of wear to the ends. The spine has a few light horizontal creases and couple of fairly light creases with a little wear to the top end, plus a little wear to the bottom end and a small wear hole just above this. Apart from that the horizontal edges are good with just a little light creasing.
The book itself has cover boards of deep crimson with gold coloured spine lettering. There are very small bumps to the board corners, the front board bottom corner being the most obvious, but still only small, and light wear to the spine ends.
The pages are pretty good, just lightly tanned, with the very occasional small mark, although there are no shortage of corner folds. Inside front cover has a library stamp, first flysheet has been removed, there is a very small date stamp on first existing flysheet together with a couple of readers' identification marks. A further, larger library stamp on title page and a very small stamp to bottom edge of first text page and last text page. A tear across page fifty with nothing missing, a further very small stamp to bottom border of page fifty seven and a few readers' identification marks to inside rear cover. Closed edges well tanned.
A pretty decent copy considering it's age and origin
' Trace Brundage figured to bring law and order to Bunch, a wild ramshackle town deep in Indian Territory. The newly commissioned U.S. deputy marshal counted his skill at judging people a surer weapon than his fast draw. But the short-trigger men he opposed balked under his handling.
Brundage, sharply attired in a flashy white suit, had his patience sorely tried as he tried to close gambling joints, and run down rustlers. He ran afoul of the townspeople - both law-abiding and otherwise - with his insolent manner and audacious actions.
Treeing the marshal became a favoured sport in Bunch. And only one man shied from the fun - Trace Brundage. '
