Item specifics

Product Type:

Queen Anne

This is an attractive and authentic George I dressing mirror, c.1725. It can be used today just as it was by its original owner, for dressing and make-up and looks beautiful sitting on a dressing table. It has one large drawer and two smaller either side which are perfect for jewellery, cosmetics and so on.

Although it is an antique it is durable and extremely usable. The mirror itself is modern (it's obscured by a blanket to avoid reflections in the photos) and you can use it perfectly well.

Georgian furniture is amongst the most highly sought after for its wonderful design and lovely materials. This mirror is made from highly patinated walnut, veneered onto slow-grown oak, with hand-cast brass fittings. Antiques from this period are an investment as well as a beautiful addition to your interior.

This mirror is of unusual geometrical design with particularly beautiful colour and deep patina to the veneers. The drawers are cock-beaded and cross-banded with a stringing of ebony and holly, and are oak-lined. The drop handles are from the period. Although the mirror plate is later, the pine backboards appear original.

The toilet mirror measures 39cm wide, 61cm high and 20cm deep (15in w x 24in h x 8in d).

Please note that the courier cost is an estimate only. Collection in person can  be arranged, or else I'm happy to help you find efficient delivery which suits you best.

This mirror was restored by Broughton Restorations, a traditional antique furniture restoration company based in rural Oxfordshire, near the Cotswolds. This listing is for the dressing mirror only. The walnut desk on which it is sitting is for sale on the Broughton Restorations website.
