An excellent military scene oil on artist's board, signed "Dawson" and dating circa 1980s. Framed - approx 9 X 12 inches (22.86 X 30.48cm).

This is an excellent English Impressionist oil dating from the late 20th Century period.
The military scene depicts a fabulous action study of soldiers from The Honourable Artillery Company saluting The Queen's Birthday, the guns firing across the River Thames in the shadow of Tower Bridge. Wonderfully executed with textured oils, the bright uniforms adding colour to the composition. The study is titled, verso, "Salute! The Queen's Birthday" - "Edward Dawson c/o The Furneaux Gallery, London". A wonderful original painting and a fine investment for the future.
The work is signed "Dawson" lower right for "Edward Dawson".
The oil probably dates to around 1980s.
