This album reminds me of "Out Of The Blue", "Discovery", and a little of "Time". It´s better than "On The Third Day" and "Eldorado". I have yet to hear "Face The Music", but I think ELO´s golden era starts with that album(or this one?) and ends somewhere after the "Time"-album. This is classical ELO. It has some beautiful ballads and a couple of GREAT hits(Telephone Line and Livin´Thing). The ballad "Above The Clouds" is one of the top 5 ELO tunes ever(hear the instrumental(track 13), sounds a bit like Bernard Herrmans film score for Scorseses "Taxi Driver". Shangri-La" is also a very strong ballad. The weakest tune is "Rockaria".
I just love ELO and this is one of my favourite albums. Some brilliant tracks. Bought the vinyl years ago but also wanted the cd. Definately recommend.Buy it, you won't be disappointed
