Unvented water heaters are fast becoming the option of choice for small commercial applications since they offer high performance, multiple sink capability and allow the use of regular taps.

The Hyco Speedflow is a stylish unvented water heater packed with useful features.

Mains pressure (unvented) unit - maximum working pressure 6 bar
Maximum working temperature 75 degrees centigrade

The supplied pressure relief valve must be fitted in every case. Depending on the details of the installation, additional accessories may be needed to comply with the Water Regulations. (In 90% of cases!!!) If your nearest cold water draw off is close to the heater, you will need to fit a check valve and expansion vessel (See our SF3). If your mains water pressure is above 4.2 bar, you will need to fit a pressure reducing valve (See our SF4)

What is supplied with every water heater?

A pressure relief valve is supplied a s standard. This valve opens if the water pressure is above 6 bar. This is a safety device for if the pressure gets too high and must be fitted in all cases.

Can the temperature of the water heater be adjusted?

Yes - from minimum to maximium (75 degrees Centigrade) on the outside of the water heater via a control knob.

Is there a safety cut-out on the water heater and can it be re-set by the user?

The safety cut-out is manually re-settable. To access the cut-out, unscrew the grey plastic cover plate. The cut-out is idebtified by a small red button ans is located in the centre of a black disc approximately 1 1/2" in diameter. To re-set the cut-out, press the red button.

Can the Speedflow be located above the sink?

The water heater can be installed more or less anywhere convenient, but it MUST be the right way up, with pipes still coming out of the top of the unit. Height is not relevant, because the heater works at mains pressure rather than gravity.

What is the tank made out of?

Glass lined steel.

Is there any maintenance to carry out on this water heater?

Yes, the anode must be checked annually for signs of erosion and replaced when necessary. Please note that the anode is now part of the heating element and so if the anode does require replacing then you should purchase an SFELEMENT. Please contact us if you require any further assistance.

What are the common spare parts for this water heater?

Common spare parts for the Speedflow are: thermostat, thermal cut-out, element (includes anode). Information about spare parts can be found by accessing the Speedflow product page and using the link to related product spares. Details are in manual.
