CALC - This program is the equivalent of Microsofts "Excel" spreadsheet package.
Calc is the spreadsheet program you have always wanted. Newcomers find it intuitive and easy to learn; professional data miners and number crunchers will appreciate the comprehensive range of advanced functions.
Advanced DataPilot technology makes it easy to pull in raw data from corporate databases; cross-tabulate, summarise, and convert it into meaningful information. Natural language formulas let you create formulas using words (e.g. "sales - costs") and the Intelligent Sum Button inserts a sum function or a subtotal automatically, depending on context.
Wizards guides you through choosing and using a comprehensive range of advanced spreadsheet functions Styles and Formatting makes it easy to apply flexible cell formatting options, including freely rotating contents, templates, backgrounds, borders, and many more. You can also export your spreadsheets to PDF format.
Scenario Manager allows "what if ..." analysis at the touch of a button - e.g. compare profitability for high / medium / low sales forecasts. Calc's solver component allows solving optimization problems where the optimum value of a particular spreadsheet cell has to be calculated based on constraints provided in other cells.
Encourage collaborative working on spreadsheets with Calc's multiple user support. By sharing a spreadsheet other users can easily add their data to the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet owner can then easily integrate the new data with a few clicks. This collaboration feature helps avoid editing conflicts.
Calc is also fully compatible with Microsoft Excel .xls format. You can open, edit and save in Microsoft Excel .xls format.
Writer - The equivalent of Microsofts "Word" Word Processing package.
Writer has everything you would expect from a modern, fully equipped word processor or desktop publisher. It is simple enough for a quick memo, powerful enough to create complete books with contents, diagrams, indexes, etc. You are free to concentrate on your message - while Writer makes it look great.
The Wizards takes all the hassle out of producing standard documents such as letters, faxes, agendas, minutes, or carrying out more complex tasks such as mail merges. You are of course free to create your own templates Styles and Formatting puts the power of style sheets into the hands of every user.
Trap typing mistakes on the fly with the AutoCorrect dictionary, which can check your spelling as you type. If you need to use different languages in your document - Writer can handle that too. Reduce typing effort with AutoComplete, which suggests common words and phrases to complete what you are typing.
Writer is also fully compatible with Microsoft Word .doc format. You can open, edit and save Microsoft Word .doc. You can also export your documents to PDF, tackle desktop publishing tasks for newsletters, flyers, etc. laid out exactly the way you want them to be. Draw - Equivalent to Microsofts "Publisher" software package.
Draw - from a quick sketch to a complex plan, Draw gives you the tools to communicate with graphics and diagrams. With a maximum page size of 300cm by 300cm, Draw is powerful tool for technical or general posters, etc.
'Park' your most commonly used drawing tools around your screen ready for single-click access. Use Styles and Formatting to put all your graphics styles at your finger tips. Manipulate objects, rotate in two or three dimensions; the 3D controller puts spheres, rings, cubes, etc. at your disposal. You can arrange objects: group, ungroup, regroup, and edit objects while grouped. Sophisticated rendering let you create photorealistic images with your own texture, lighting effects, transparency, perspective, and so on.
Smart connectors make short work of flowcharts, organisation charts, network diagrams, etc. Define your own 'glue points' for connectors to 'stick' to.

Base - The equivalent to Microsofts Access database package.
Base is a fully featured desktop database management system, designed to meet the needs of a broad array of users, from just tracking your personal CD collection, to producing a corporate monthly departmental sales report.
Base offers wizards to help users new to database design (or just new to Base) to create Tables, Queries, Forms and Reports, along with a set of predefined table definitions for tracking Assets, Customers, Sales Orders, Invoices and much more.
When a personal use database is all you need, Base offers the full HSQL relational database engine, configured for single user, with the data stored right in the Base file, as well as native support for dBase flat files.
For power users in the enterprise, Base delivers native support drivers for a variety of multi-user database engines: MySQL, Adabas D, MS Access and PostgreSQL. In addition, support for JDBC and ODBC standard drivers allows you to connect to virtually any existing database.

Math - A bonus tool which helps in the creation of mathematical equations.
Math is OpenOffice’s component for mathematical equations. It is most commonly used as an equation editor for text documents, but it can also be used with other types of documents or stand-alone. When used inside Writer, the equation is treated as an object inside the text document. Similarly, one can also insert these into other OpenOffice programs like Calc and Impress.
Using Math, there are three main ways of entering a formula:

When you order software from us you will receive a CD-Rom disk with the software you have ordered, sent to you protected in a protective cardboard envelope with protective plastic cover by first class Royal Mail postage.
When the disk is inserted into your computer, it will display a menu which allows for easy installation of your new software program(s).
In order that we may keep costs to you as LOW as possible, you will not receive a box with your software; the box in the picture is for illustration only.
I am buying software from you, will I receive a boxed product?
No, the product in the picture is for display purposes only. In order that we may keeps your costs down to a minimum, there will be no box supplied with the software, you will receive a CD in a well packaged envelope with the software on.
What about Customer Support?
It is very unlikely you will need help with any of our products, as they are all supplied ready to run. As soon as the disk is inserted into your computer a menu screen will be displayed, and you will be able to point and click and be up and running in seconds.
Having said that, if you DO have any issues then you can be confident that we will reply to you as quickly as possible, with the best help that we can provide.
I bought from you, but the item doesn't work: can you help?
Don't Panic! Simply get in contact and we will do our utmost to either sort out the problem, or if necessary issue you with a new disk if that is what is needed, at our cost.
What happens if my item doesn't arrive?
We strive to send out all items within a 24 hour time slot, and we'd suggest that Royal Mail should be given 7 days to perform the service of getting the item to you. With all this in mind, if you haven't received your product within 8 days of purchase, simply get in contact with us and we will make some enquiries on your behalf and if necessary we will dispatch another product to you, at our cost.
With regards a software purchase, how many computers can I install the software on?
You may install any software you purchase from us on as few or as many computer as you wish, it is completely up to you how many times you use the software.
Will I receive any printed documentation from you with regards to my software?
You will receive a printed invoice showing your purchase from us. You will not receive any printed manuals in your package, but where necessary any help documentation will be provided on the Software Menu for you to use.
What computer Operating Systems is the software compatible with?
Unless otherwise listed above, the software will work on -: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit versions).
Why is the software so cheap?
The software has been developed by the Open Source Community, and so with no shareholders to please we can pass the savings directly on to you, the consumer.
With this in mind, it is important to note that the software is completely legal.
