Galicia is a pleasure for senses. Its wonderful beaches, rural and sea landscapes that have not match, a fine temperature and and excellent gastronomy turn Galicia into a ever more visited region. The main tourist attractions are the Rías Altas and Bajas, the coastline in Finisterre and cities of great beauty like Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Vigo.
Aiaz is a small rural village surrounded by green fields and woodlands and is typical of rural life in this region and family values are first and foremost, nearby is the market town of Escairon and here you will find supermarkets, shops, health centre and a school for infants, juniors and seniors. Slightly further away is the historic town of Monforte de Lemos with all major amenities at hand.

Out of the courtyard doors is a walled terrace area, with a large, productive grapevine growing over providing shade in summer (and delicious grapes) there is also a chicken house and run built in to one side of the courtyard, and some herb/flower beds.
The terrace leads to wooden steps down to the field which is fully fenced, and can be used for animal grazing or simply as garden. To the bottom of the field there is a large vegetable plot, on which there remains planted Rhubarb, gooseberries, raspberries and strawberries. There are also apple, cherry, walnut, lemon, pear, plum and a further grape.
There is also additional grazing available to rent if required, and an entitlement to “common land”.
Water is from a well, with additional bore hole as back up in event of severe drought.
The well water has been fully tested, and we have a certificate to confirm it is safe for drinking.
Heating/Hot water is oil fired.
School bus provides free transport to school in Escairon for ages 3-18. Stops right outside front door.
Bread delivered daily, bottled gas delivered bi-weekly. There is also a “grocery” van that passes by daily, and a fish van.
Fresh milk can be bought “straight from the cow” from several of the villagers.
