Item specifics

English, dating from the second half of the 19th century - c. 1885.

Of solid brass construction - the brass components retaining the original black painted finish.

The grip sections are tightly bound with the original brown leather coverings - a knurled focus wheel is positioned centrally between the hinged optical assemblies.

This fine example incorporates folding anti-glare shields to the eyepiece lens housings - see images 2, 3 & 4.

Both eyepiece lens bezels are embossed with the famous maker's name, " LILLEY & SON, LONDON " - see image 5.

The binoculars are complete with leather case, probably original, though now very tatty - but has preserved the condition of binoculars very well indeed. The case is shown in the final two images above.

Height, optics fully extended, shields folded down - 7 1/8" (181mm), closed - 5 7/8" (149mm).

Very good,  unrestored period condition - natural colour and appearance, optics clear.
