This beautiful watering can, customised with
floral images and butterflies, has been designed for Christian Aid Week by a
fashion icon in the making. Tali Lennox was inspired to create her design
following a trip to Sierra Leone, one of the world’s poorest countries where
around half the population depend on agriculture, as a Christian Aid Week
ambassador. As the daughter of singer and humanitarian, Annie Lennox, Tali is no stranger to charity work. She says of her trip: ‘Travelling in Sierra Leone was the first time I got to see how small changes can transform lives in such a big way. People are being provided with the kinds of things we in the UK would take for granted. The country has so much potential. They just need the right tools, and that’s where the donations have been so vital.’ The metal watering can is dark green and has been signed by Tali, a recent guest judge on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. Tali’s watering can is being auctioned by Christian Aid as part of Christian Aid Week to raise vital funds for its work in countries such as Sierra Leone. The theme of this year’s fundraising week is ‘give the tools to help people in poverty out of poverty’, and Tali’s creation is one of a host of celebrity-designed gardening tools and equipment being auctioned and on display at a pop-up shop at 63 Broadwick Street London from 14 – 19 May 2012. Please note that delivery outside the UK will incur additional delivery costs and buyers from countries other than the UK should contact us for additional information. |
