Stains on front and rear board and board corners are badly worn in two instances. Gilt has faded/dulled on front board although it is still legible. Spine gilt has dulled but title is legible. Spine ends are bumped and worn. Front and rear hinges are cracked but boards are still securely attached. Please see rest of description and more images below.

Published by Blackie & Son Ltd in 1914, First edition. 195 pages. 26cm x 19cm.

A collection of 30 poems by William Morris which include

The Defence of Guenevere, King Arthur's Tomb, Sir Galahad, A Christmas Mystery, The Chapel in Lyoness, Sir Peter Harpdon's End, Rapunzel, The Blue Closet, Golden Wings, The Eve of Crecy and Near Avalon  

Beautifully illustrated throughout by Florence Harrison in an pre-raphaelite style. The book is complete and no pages or plates are missing.Worn soiled boards and please see images. Stains on front and rear board and board corners are badly worn in two instances. Gilt has faded/dulled on front board although it is still legible.  Spine gilt has dulled but title is legible. Spine ends are bumped and worn. Front and rear hinges are cracked but boards are still securely attached. Front decorated endpapers have pen line marks on one page but rear endpapers are unmarked. Foxing and aging throughout but pages are clean. Handwritten name on endpaper and '16 colour plates' written on a further endpaper. Frontispiece should be tipped in but is stuck down. All other plates are tipped in and noted that a couple of plates have tiny foxing marks on the extreme edge of plate. A scarce edition.

I try to keep postal costs as low as possible and books are always carefully packed using a combination of acid free tissue, bubblewrap and corrugated card/cardboard. A multiple order will always be packed in a box. Magazines and paperback books are always dispatched in reinforced cardboard backed envelopes usually with additional cardboard
