‘Warm, witty and heartfelt, dispensing alternately rueful and wry nuggets of wisdom from the badlands of middle age.’ – Graeme Thompson, The Word.
‘A suave refinement of deep-seated influences… matching a spare sophisticated style with a connoisseur’s touch. Astringent, observational songs seal the deal.’ – Gavin Martin, Uncut.
Geraint Watkins, the acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician, is to release his fourth solo studio album ‘Moustique’ in early 2014.
His previous album ‘In A Bad Mood’ received a very warm reception and Geraint was rewarded with six live BBC radio sessions and a spot on the ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ TV show.
Jools was quoted in Mojo: ‘One of the great underrated songwriters. He mashes up elements of Cajun, country, blues, soul and British pop and it’s about love, death and grown-up issues, sounding like it is sung by someone who has lived a life.’ Bob Dylan is another of the many who have praised him, with a number of plays on his ‘Theme Time Radio Hour’.
Geraint was born in South Wales in the 1950’s. After an art-school education he moved to London. Early records with a couple of bands gained him attention, then on his solo albums he excelled – ‘Watkins Bold As Love’ in 1997 (Bluefive), ‘Dial ‘W’ For Watkins’ in 2004 (Proper) and ‘In A Bad Mood’ in 2008 (Goldtop).
His talents have attracted much admiration from other musicians including the top names in popular music. Consequently he’s much in demand as a hired hand and has played and recorded with Van Morrison, Paul McCartney, Mark Knopfler, Nick Lowe and many more. He fronted three of the Rolling Stones and others in Willie & the Poor Boys, and regularly tours as a key member of both Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings and Nick Lowe’s band.
In 2012 Nick Lowe chose him to open on his band tour across Europe and Australia. Geraint followed that with headline dates in Spain, Sweden, Norway and the UK.
For his solo work, Geraint has attracted some of the best players around. On his recent London live shows he was accompanied by a seven-piece band: Kate St. John (cor anglais), Matt Holland (trumpet), Martin Winning (saxophone), Johnny Scott (guitar), Matt Radford (double bass) and Robert Treherne (drums).
‘Moustique’ was recorded at Goldtop Studio, Tooting and will be marked by a return to live work, with dates to be announced shortly.

Paypal is smoothly integrated into ebay, and works well.
Paying by credit-card - whether or not you have Paypal, you can still use credit-cards through PayPal.
Just DON’T LOG INTO AN ACCOUNT, and look for the button saying ‘Pay by credit-card’.
We also accept cheques from UK banks in Pounds Sterling, and UK Postal Orders. Checks in US Dollars from US banks can be accepted with a $3 surcharge.
PayPal ‘eCheque’ payments take a week longer to arrive, so expect a delay if you use that facility. You can avoid eCheques by having a credit-card linked to your PayPal account.
Orders paid by any method outside the PayPal system will likely be subject to delays.
UK and particularly international postage charges continue to rise. The amount we charge is what we expect to pay plus approx 20-30p for packing materials.
Multiple items postage
If you are ordering multiple items, there will be automatic approximated reduction in postage costs – BUT make sure you first ADD THEM TO YOUR CART to order them together, not individually. Depending on the weight of the items, the estimate may still be excessive. If you want an accurate calculation then first put ALL the items into your basket, then don't pay but click on the 'Request total from seller' button in the shopping basket. We'll then recalculate the costs for your combined items postage and send you an invoice, but this may take a day or two. The postage may or may not calculate as less.
Delivery time excludes weekends and Bank Holidays, which may be different in the UK from elsewhere.
Packets to overseas destinations (particularly Italy, Russia, South America) often take longer than advertised due to local customs delays.
Overseas post is by Royal Mail Air Mail Small Packet, for which there is NO tracking number. Currently we don't regularly offer a 'signed for' or tracked service; but message us if your order is over £50 value and you'd like to add such a service.
Please note, the date printed on our postage is a day or two after we print it, ie it’s the date it remains valid until with Royal Mail, not the date of posting.
Packaging: For vinyl we generally use sturdy card cruciforms, not envelopes, and if not shrinkwrapped we remove discs from sleeves, to avoid sleeve splits. For CDs we use corrugated cardboard, not jiffy bags.
We want you to be really happy with your purchase. If you’re not, or something’s gone wrong, please message us. We will do our very best to resolve any problem. If our item description isn’t quite right, or you think we’ve overcharged on postage, please LET US KNOW instead of 'opening a case' or marking down our ebay feedback. If you have an order problem you’d like to resolve quickly, you can phone us on +44(0)208 537 3445. Good manners are appreciated!
It’ll help us deal with your query faster if you can include the order reference #number! Please try not to 'open a case' unless you're seriously concerned. Message us first; we always want you to be happy with the service you get.
Please remember, the ebay shop is not our main business so we may not always respond immediately; but we will get back to you.
Order multiple items and you pay only 50% postage on subsequent items.
