I was lucky enough to meet Sylvia Anderson at RAF Cosfords Flights of Fantasy exhibition on 17/5/14. She kindly signed the 20 page booklet that accompanies the Limited edition Japanese blu ray set just before she left the event, so this would have been the last signature she gave on that day. She was due to appear on the 2nd & final day of the event but had to pull out due to unforeseen circumstances.
I believe that this is the only Japanese blu ray in the world signed by her, as she told me she hadn't seen this before. At 87 years of age public appearances by Sylvia are extremely rare these days, making this autograph very special.
This Japanese set is superior to the UK version not only in terms of picture quality but the fact that it's the only blu ray set available in it's original 4:3 picture format, unlike the UK 16:9 release which cuts out a substantial section of the top & bottom of the picture.
This is in absolute brand new mint condition, sealed with the obi strip, the seal has been very carefully cut at the side to remove the booklet for signing.
English extras (4:3 unless indicated otherwise, and with optional Japanese subtitles)
All About Thunderbirds - 58 min, an excellent and in-depth 2007 BBC documentary (16:9)
Three or four vintage commercials for various products, endorsed by the Thunderbirds themselves
A 4 min promotional video for Carlton's restoration of Thunderbirds
The Thunderbirds Companion - 53 min, an introduction to the Thunderbirds universe; hosted by Brains
The Making Of Thunderbirds - 3 min, a vintage featurette
Japanese extras (4:3, no subtitles options)
(I could only understand the English titles for these features, as I don't read/speak Japanese )
Thunderbirds Future Files - 14 min, in seven parts
Thunderbirds In Tokyo - 21 min
An untitled 22 min featurette which appeared to be all about the Thunderbirds characters, machines and Tracy Island
Thunderbirds DVD Collection advert - 30 sec
