1974 QUB Griffon  For Sale My Historic Motor crosser Owned and Raced by an acknowledged Motor crosser being Alan Voase.  Many victories in the 1970's proved winning machine, which was mentioned in a few pages in his book called 100 per cent.  The machine was modified by Alan to get the best out of the Griffon, the cylinder barrel had alternate fins removed by hand taken approx. 80 hours of work, this improved the cooling on the engine and reduced the chance of piston seizure, also a bigger Minkuni Carb was fitted to improve the breathing, this historic Griffon has had a major rebuild and has documented receipts of over £3000 spent on the machine.  it is a exceptional machine and in the right hands will win racers. It pulls like a four stroke and is very powerful, this is a unique opportunity to own and race this historic motor cross bike, with a documented history.

Please call me for further information on this immaculate machine, ready to race: Mike 01384 349009 / 07954143376

Some interesting information we have for this machine:

Ex-Alan Voase C1974 Creeves 380cc QUB Frame No 63A 159 Engine no GPG2/323 This Greeves Griffon is one of two modified and raced in the early 1970's by Neville Mason and Alan Voase, partners in the Hull-based motorcycle dealership, Neval , Importers of various Soviet makes.  Convinced that the engine was powerful enough, they set about improving the chassis by altering the steering geometry, reducing the wheelbase, adding extra bracing, inclining the rear dampers, increasing wheel travel and lightening the hubs/brakes.  Alternative cooling fins were removed from the cylinder barrel, despite which the engine ran 25% cooler.  Other modifications include Husqvarna gas shock absorbers and a CCM Elektron rear hub, all of which trimmed some 31lbs off the standard bike's weight of 225lbs.  The second bike had the same modifications but retained the stock steering head angle.  During the 1975 and 1976 seasons Nev Mason won 33 races around the North east while Voase took 12 wins.  This is the Ex-Alan Voase Griffon QUB. (Nev Masons's went to Norway). Dismantled in 1982, the machine was restored during 2011/2012 using s standard Griffon frame to comply with current Greeves Series regulations.  The modified original frame ('63F 417') is included complete with invoices for rebuilding the engine/gearbox and a copy of the detailed history of the Neval Griffons.
