HID stands for "High Intensity Discharge". HID lights get their name from the intense white light produced by the electrical discharge.
HID lights are a different type of lighting technology, utilized in automobiles for greater effectiveness and greater efficiency. Unlike Halogen (or incandescent) bulbs, HID bulbs do not have filaments. Instead of heating a filament as standard halogen bulbs do, HID bulbs create light by bridging an arc between two electrodes, similar to the energy transfer of lightning. The arc stimulates a mixture of Xenon gases and metallic salts, producing a phenomenal bright white beam of light approximately 3x brighter than conventional halogen illumination, while lasting 10x longer. You normally see HID lamps in the form of mercury and sodium vapour lights used as street lamps and as outdoor lighting for stadiums. These lamps are popular because they are efficient. In the case of sodium vapour, they are twice as efficient as normal fluorescent bulbs.
Advantages of Xenon
Higher brightness - three times more luminous flux than that of halogen tungsten bulbs.
Wider coverage - Beam pattern illuminates up to 70% more of the roadway, especially the sides.
Longer life expectancy - The lifetime of the HID bulb is approximately 3000 hours, that is eight times more than halogen.
More durable - Withstands shock and vibration since there is no filament.
Energy Conservation - The energy an HID kit consumes is 50% less than a halogen lamp.
Style & Look - Hid kit gives your car a stylish and modern outward appearance.
Greater Visibility and road safety - The combination of more light output and whiter colour makes for greater visibility in most night time driving conditions.
Bulb Range -
It is a common misconception that higher colour temperatures (Ks) produce brighter lights. This is not true. The colour temperature only determines the colour but not the brightness of the HID light. The Colour Temperature is simply a scale represented by the Kelvin Temperature Chart (hence the abbreviation K or Ks), that measures the colour of the light output. Typically, the higher the colour temperature, the closer you get to achieving bluish to purplish light colours. The reality is the higher up the scale the lamps are the less bright they become.
4300K has an approximately 3300lm output, which is more than 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and is the colour temperature with the most light output. The light appears fairly white, and has light yellowish hue when reflected off the road, identical to the OEM HID equipped vehicles.
6000K has an approximately 2900lm output, which is 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and slightly less light output compared to the 4700K. Although it has less light output, it emits pure white light with a slight tint of blue. We suggest 6000k to customers who are uncertain of which temperature bulbs they want. We think it is the best balance between brightness and visual appearance.
8000K has an approximately 2500lm output, which is about 3x the light output of the traditional halogen light and slightly less light output compared to the 6000K. While it has less light output, it emits a bluer light than the 6000K.
Please note bulb temperatures over 8000k are not road legal as of January 2012 in the UK. It is the responsibility of the purchaser/installer to ensure that the kit is fitted to vehicles conforming to local legislation.
This Kit is -
Canbus Friendly - HIDs operate on 35W where as halogens operate on 55W. In some vehicles, the difference in current will trigger a "low beam failure indicator" or a "fast blinking error." As a result, standard ballasts in HID Conversion kits will not function properly and interfere with the Canbus systems. Our kits are specifically designed to eliminate any potential Canbus and "On Board Computer Error" related issues.
Complete Kit - Our HID kits are supplied complete with quick release brackets, installation manual and all necessary fittings.
Totally sealed - and are 100% water proof conforming to IP67 Standards. See Picture Below.
Shock Proof - Our kits are ideal for off road use as they are extremely durable and shock/vibration proof.

Warranty - Our AC Ballasts carry a 2 year warranty.
