The price rise - which will raise the cost of sending a letter first class by a huge 30 percent to 60 pence ($0.96), and the slower, second class by 39 percent to 50 pence - has sparked alarm across the country where consumers are facing slow wage growth and high inflation.

I have been able to keep my UK pricing at the same level as for 2011, but the effect on prices for posting outside the UK is, frankly, scandalous. Sending photos by printed paper in a board-stiffened envelope has seen price hikes of in excess of 80%. There are though, still, savings to be made on P&P for multiple purchases, as I will absorb some of these costs (see table below).

I specialise in naval items - primarily, photos and books (including commission books). I also sell most other types of books - especially, Religious - Antiquarian - First Editions/Signed - Children - Giles -Sporting - Art - Literature - Nature - Travel and other printed matter (comics, magazines, football programmes etc).
From time-to-time I also sell items of art, such as watercolours, old litho prints and more modern limited edition prints and  as well as other, more unusual collectables (e.g. scientific instruments).
