The Vista drivers that came on the CD failed during installation. When it failed, it uninstalled everything and no details of how to fix it or offer options to install only what I need. I downloaded the network PS drivers from HP.com and configured the printer. Not sure what advantage PCL6 has over PS. Works great for printing, faxing, and copying. I have not figured out how to scan yet. I'll do that over the weekend when I have more time. I hope this printer does not require USB for scanning. The size of this printer is bigger than some competitors. First page printing speed is very quick and did not require much warnup time. Quality of printing is excellent for text and good for B&W photos. Copying quality is excellent! Faxing quality is fine and harder to tell because of the other fax machine. A great printer over all!Read full review
I purchased a used M1522nf and it failed shortly out of the box. First the formatter board died. I was able resurrect it by removing it and baking it at 350 for 10 minutes in the oven. Then the scanner stepper motor failed. Again, i was able to fix it by purchasing another motor for $35. It seemed to work good for a few months, then started locking up or shutting down sporadically. The last straw was when the replacement stepper motor failed again. I just replaced it with a HP8500A Premium. Great printer for $280 from NewEgg. Only drawback is it's an ink-jet but the speed and quality is great.
top feeder not working to pull paper in cost to much to ship back

This is a great older all-in-one. Does everything it should and does it well. Is not wireless. The newer models are. I would buy this one again for my needs.
We have 5 of these in our office. Very reliable HP printer. The newer models have lower price point, but the cost of toner is much higher. If you print many copies at all, it's better to spend the extra for the 1522.
