This is the instrument that the world's top session bassist Nathan East referred to as "Gorgeous!"  ( http://www.facebook.com/album.php?id=662648199&aid=334175 ) and went on to send me an email enquiring about the "beautiful work of art"! It also received exceptional praise from many of the great British players that I know and also from the world class female drummer Patti Ballinas!!!

Let me tell you about the bass:

The body is made from Burl Elm, with a sculpted maple top, English character grade Yew and with a Spalted Maple backing board.

The neck is made from Flamed Maple, with a Chilean Laurel Burl wood headstock topping and Rosewood 34” scale fingerboard with 24 frets.

The electronics are two powerful 5 string "soap bar" bass pickup running at 15.2k Ohms. It has a 3 band EQ system which also allows control of the "Pickup Balance" with a blend pot. Treble and Bass form one of the concentric pots, and Middle and Frequency control from the other Volume from the Alpha Pot and a standard tone pot with a 47 cap for smoother treble cut.

The hardware is made up of chrome bass guitar tuners (3 left and 2 right) with Chrome knobs. The Chrome solid bridge increases sustain and punch and it is strung through the back of the bridge (not through the body) with 16.5mm string spacing and adjustable saddles. It has been finished off with Chrome strap lock fitting strap pins.

The bass had a build time of 120 hours and as such, the workmanship is outstanding! The instrument doesn't know the meaning of "action", as the strings are that low and as such it has a very fast playability! Then there is the sound... WOW! It can be tight, it can be punchy, it can be soft or mellow! It can even growl so much, it frieghtens next door's Rottweiler away!  

This is a brand new item, it has only been played by myself at home (and just the once!) and I am happy for you to come and try it out for size and playability, I am that confident about it! I live just 3 minutes away from M62 Jct21 and I make great coffee too!
