This is my own made version of the fantastic Happy Hangup baby hammock from Australia. I wanted one but couldn't afford over £200 to buy and import one so i made this one when i was pregnant out of beautiful red/brown hardwood.
It is virtually identical and works just the same. (The second photo is a photo of the actual Happy Hangup. check their website www.happyhangup.com)
It comes with a long bouncy spring i got from some coil manufacturers, a strong doorway hanger that clips over any doorway frame and a heavy duty metal carabina that clips the coil to the metal loop on the main wooden hanger.
Also it comes with a lovely orange duvet cover i used for the actual hammock, but you could change this for any decent, strong piece of fabric of a similar size. You would need to provide your own cushion (as i am keeping the cushion i used for this as i had it made to order out of organic wool and cotton and was a bit pricey) but it is a standard large size cushion that fits best (approx 24" x 24" / 60cm x 60cm). (I also had a sheepskin in there on top of the cushion for my son to cosy up on.)
i bought a ceiling hook for it but never needed to use it. i currently can't find it, but they are cheap enough online - i got mine for £9.99 on ebay. Then you could hang the hammock nearer to your bed.
The hammock swings and tilts well, allowing for the baby's movement to bounce the hammock.
The weight allowance for the spring is approx 30 stone, and for the door hanger is around 12 stone, although this does depend on the strength and condition of your woodwork.
No matter the weight, the age range recommended for these hammocks is up to 3 years really, depending on size of your child and whether their legs/arms stick out!
The wooden hanger part does have a few marks on it, however these were there prior to me making it as i got the wood from a reclaim timber yard.
Can't think of anything else to add, apart from you are very welcome to come and view the hammock hanging up before you bid. I have listed for ten days to allow plenty of time for this. We are in Sprowston, Norwich. Feel free to email any questions.
