DVDs are great, good quality, but the box/casing it is absolute rubbish, terrible design: DVDs go on top of each other entire series and they click like that, imagine that you have to unclick five of them to see the sixth one, and then put them back again, and after watching, doing the same thing all over just to put say disc 6 back into its place! I have ditched the original casing and put them all in a pocket DVD bag.

Lovely box set of the early years. Well written stories, engaging characters and the way the 60s music is picked to align with the story always makes me chuckle (and takes me back!)

"The Rowan years" completely different to the later series much more depth in the characters and the episodes.More edge to the stories, more like a series of films rather than a television series.More like the George Gently series.Very good.Oh and Bill Maynard as Claude Greengrass .Very good. The later series are ( sorry) poor in comparison.

A good dose of nostalgia for those who can remember the 1960s. Very entertaining.
