This auction is for my 1991 Honda CBR400RR.
This is the first and only bike I have ever owned, but I can say as a beginner it was great.
Ideal first time bike. (can be restricted to 33hp fairly cheap and easily if needed).
I have owned the bike since March 2009 (it was first registered in the UK in April 2003. Japanese Grey import).
I put the bike into storage over the past winter for a general service and changed the colour scheme of the bike whilst it was off the road.
I also changed all the engine fluids and fitted a new chain, sprockets and battery.
Whilst all the plastics were off the bike I cleaned up all the parts that are accessible and made sure the bike was in good general condition.
It was originally the Castrol Gullarm Teal/Silver and Black colour scheme. It is now in Konica Minolta race replica colours.
I changed all the coloured parts on the bike rather then re-painting the original parts so the current fairing is not Honda OEM, but the wheels and petrol tank are.
As you can see in one of my pictures i still have all the original coloured parts. These are being auctioned separately.
Apart from the colour change the bike is standard, except for an after market exhaust and tinted screen.
The bike is taxed until May 2013 and is MOT'd until June 2013, the bike received no advisories on the MOT at all.
I have barely ridden the bike since I took it out of storage in June for the MOT. Mainly due to bad weather.
It has been stored in my garage ever since.
Unfortunately the bike isnt perfect. there are a few little negatives listed below.
The indicator switch is a little sticky, so sometimes the indicators will work absolutely fine, other days they make take 20 seconds to come on sometimes longer. I think the switch may just need dismantling and cleaning.
When I changed the colour scheme I also heatwrapped the exhaust to match. As this heatwrap is still new it still smells once the exhaust gets hot. This should dissappear over time.
I haven't ridden the bike for any substantial distance this year probably max of 150 miles in total, so it hasnt really had a chance to bed in the new parts.
Chain and sprockets, new tyres fitted after wheels were painted etc so it may need a general check over in a couple of hundred miles time just as a safety check that everything is still tight etc.
On a positive I have spent a good few months on the bike over winter and it looks great, I think you will struggle to find one that looks as clean as this one does.
I also have the restrictors to go in the carburettor rubbers to make this bike 33BHP, suitable for restricted licence holders.
The reason I am selling is because I am saving to buy my own house and unfortunately this is a luxury I can no longer afford. I love this little bike and if I am in a situation where my finances are better then I will not think twice about trying to find another one.
Viewings and test rides are welcome on appointment, although any test rides will require a £1500 deposit.
