Inlaid Oak 8 day French Mantel Clock C1910












Description

An excellent heavy solid oak cased mantel clock with corner shell marquetry, boxwood stringing to the face centre, rope stringing to the outer edge, solid brass pilasters to each side and standing on brass ball feet. 8 day French movement with platform escapement, enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Winding, time adjustment and speed regulation are all performed from the rear. Dates to C1910.

Excellent colour, striking grain and warm patina.

7.75 inches wide, 3.25 inches deep and 7.25 inches tall.

The movement has recently been fully overhauled and is in full working order. The case has been carefully cleaned and waxed.
