AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!!! Originally bought a really old HP 6560b with an i5 2410M @ 2.30GHz. It would CONSTANTLY experience processor spikes (100% Utilization when checking the Performance Tab in Task Manager) then Blue Screen on me, especially whenever I used Chrome. Upgrading to the i7-2720QM I know longer have this issue AT ALL and the superior processor also mitigates the operating system trying to compensate by maxing out the Hard Disk write speeds. This was the PERFECT MOVE!! EXCELLENT! SIMPLY EXCELLENT!!

Is hotter than the i5 of my another computer, but has better performance and for now it looks like a nice choice. If it doesn't works better I will have more time to know it.

I had an older, but still very serviceable Toshiba laptop. After upgrading the RAM and putting in an SSD, my attention wandered to the processor. (Hey- it was either that or paint it!) A bit of research showed that this processor had a very high compatibility rating for my application. Translation: the odds were good that my machine could accept this processor with no problems. Shipped and received promptly. Then it was once again time to break out the tiny screwdrivers and repeatedly curse the constantly escaping tiny parts. The actual swap was anticlimactic- pull the old i5 out, clean everything up and apply new thermal paste, then start the long, tortuous reassembly. In the end, everything went together with no leftover parts (always a good sign), and the system booted right up. The new CPU is a -bit- faster. But what I really noted is that the system runs MUCH cooler now. I use the CoreTemp utility to monitor constantly, as I've had PC's cook themselves in the past. (HP's, every one of 'em) Average temps are down by roughly10ᵒ C. Very happy with both the service as well as the product. Recommended.Read full review

I did a test render through Sony Vegas using both the processors, and this one out worked the original i5, by 5 minutes. That is a HUGE difference, considering. Hoping on upgrading to the highest CPU before the summer. For those that are unsure on how to install this CPU on their Lenovo G770, Do a Google Search for "Lenovo G770 i7-2720QM CPU Upgrade".

I replaced the the I5-2410M in my Lenovo G770 laptop with this. It was a very easy task. All you need is a screw driver and a little thermal paste. It took me about 15 minutes. Boot time is reduced by about 10 seconds. It is running so cool that I actually feel cool air coming out from the air vent. Improved performance is quite noticeable.
