Item specifics

Original/ Repro: Original Etching/ Engraving Type: Aquatint
Signed?: Signed Subject: Landscape/ Cityscape
Type: Modern - Limited Edition Style: Outsider Art
Medium: Etching/ Engraving Signed/ Unsigned: Signed

A stunning aquatint etching by renowned landscape printer John Brunsdon. Titled Charmouth Beach', the colours on this work are strong and vibrant with an orange sky, olive landscape dotted with bright red rooved houses, and aqua seas.  .

The work is editioned 2/150, a very low edition number and is signed by the artist in pencil lower right . sheet measures 22.5 x 26  inches on heavy paper

15.5 x 19.5 inches sheet size.

There is a small hairline 'inherent' crease in the grain of the paper towards the far right corner, and some light creasing to the top left edge of the paper which I have tried to photograph but it doesn't pick it up. both very minor and the image itself is pristine.  There is a wide margin around the printed area and as such any imperfections in the unprinted area will be well covered by a  mount.

P&P includes cost of reinforced tube for shipping. . Check out my other items!

John Brunsdon was born in 1933 and studied at the Royal College of Art from 1955 to 1958. He was head of the printmaking department at St.Albans College of Art for sixteen years and now lives near Diss on the Suffolk/Norfolk border where he has his own print workshop. He has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe and has participated in many one-man shows and group exhibitions in this country. John is widely considered one of Britain's most distinguished printmakers. His work is represented in many major public collections, including the Tate Gallery, the British Council, Scottish Museum of Modern Art, the V & A, The Arts Council, the Museum of Modern Art New York. He has exhibited in Sweden, Belgium, New Zealand, Austria, Australia, Japan, Canada & USA. He is an Associate of the Royal College of Art - ARCA and a Fellow fo the Royal Socity of Painter Printmakers - RE.

Landscape has always been John's foremost influence, even when images were still abstract and influenced by American abstract expressionists such as Kline and Motherwell. He is fascinated by man's mark on the landscape - the contrast between buildings and countryside: the one temporary the other timeless and primeval.
