Excellent condition for age. well maintained and cheap to run with LPG conversion.
Returns equivalent to 40MPG if driven sensibly
LPG conversion is a PRINS system and one of the best multipoint ones on the market, professionally installed in 2008.
Not common knowledge, but LPG reduces wear on engine because of reduced particulate - you also may be able to remove cats.
The car starts and runs faultlessly, and switchover (automatic & manual) to and from LPG is perfect.

Passed MOT 5 Sept 2013 without major issue

Lots of receipts, many from dealers.
I have only owned car for 18 months during which time, other than normal servicing, I have had the gearbox oil & filter changed, replaced the gearbox position sensor (common fault) and fitted a new battery last summer.

I had planned to own this car for many years but I have discovered a subsidence problem and so need cash urgently to fix, hence car must go.
I looked for this car for 2 years, and it is the best I found. It is the best style, in the best colour with the best wheels (in my opinion - and many others), and will become an appreciating asset, as the E type did. The newer XK interior is no match for this model, and it turns heads everywhere.

It is not without odd dents and small scratches from car parks, it is 16 years old, but gets classic insurance!

The car probably has the original engine (not sure from history) with Nikasil liners which were only a problem when certain supermarkets decided to use Sulphur in their petrol. Nikasil liners were used in many BMW's. Merc's, lexus, and most Jags on the late 90's. If it hasn't been a problem so far; it won't be now, and many cars with Nikasil liners have far more miles on than mine and still run strong - check the jaguar forums.

I also don't know if the timing chains or tensioners have been replaced (suspect they may have been) however I have had several 'chain drive' cars and unless you drive like an idiot and don't listen to your engine, they all give you good notice that it is time to change them, by the sound they make at idle. There is a complete set of the latest type in the boot of the car, and they will go with it at the right price.

I really did intend to keep this car for a long time, and I am an enthusiast who pays attention to detail. The car is not immaculate, and I'm in a rush to sell it, hence the bargain price.

I have an extensive amount of technical information including videos to help maintain & service this car which I can include on a DVD

Re LPG:
This is my third LPG vehicle, and I have no doubt it won't be my last. I read many comments about LPG from people who have never used it, so would make a few things clear for those who have concerns:
  • It is half the price of petrol, has been for well over a decade, and it is unlikely to change from that, so as petrol (and diesel) goes up, you save more!
  • It is not as readily available as petrol, but you soon get to know your local stations, and there are maps on www.lpgmap.co.uk
  • When you start the car it runs on petrol for about 2 minutes, then automatically switches to gas (unless you override it).
  • When your gas runs out, the system beeps and automatically switches back to petrol - and this happens even when on cruise at motorway speeds almost un-noticeably.
  • The whole engine runs much cleaner, and reduces wear on engine (oil can stay very clean unless you use petrol a lot)
  • The car sounds and performs the same ( I know Corvette and TVR owners that run it also)
  • LPG needs little servicing, just a filter change every couple of years, depending on use
  • You don't smell it in or around car unless re-fueling, or you have a leak (like petrol)
  • Your fuel economy drops about 5% compared to petrol, so you don't quite save 50% of cost, but £36 of LPG recently took me over 200 non-motorway miles
