Up for auction is another rare old bird.
Manufactured by Clutterbuck and co. These Unique sets featured the infamous roger gobble and side fitting flutter wing mounting facility. This radio was a must for any self respecting gentleman farmer back in the day. Specially designed for mounting in tractors, these could also be used at home. Indeed, many farmers would spend hours out in their fields drinking silage whilst happily listening to their wives gobbling away at home.
Once again professionally modified by the skilled technicians at COBRATURKEYWORXSHOPZ this unit has had the very latest software installed.
Alex at COBRATURKEYWORXSHOPZ explained " it has a multi dependent anthrax modulator retarding dip thong differential with inveterate comniaxial enveloper and overhang agnostic flanger." He continued "it's been corn fed whilst it's been here. That's why it's gone yellow."
The turkey was actually alive and working well when I foolishly sent it to them. For several weeks I tried constantly to get answers from Alex, but was called an impatient French cheese-monger and told to go and dip my profiteroles into a mug of freshly hot cafe noire.
Eventually my beloved Cobra BM Turkey 3000 was returned. Included in the box was a slip detailing the above modifications which looked very promising indeed. Unfortunately I was mortified when I removed the bubble wrap.....
Its head and feet had been completely Dremelled off and the outer cases had been completely plucked. There was no sign of the modifications listed, but there was some scorching to the now plucked outer casings and the distinct odour of rubber. There was also a strange residue remaining around where the PL259 socket used to be. Upon closer inspection this turned out to be Paxo sage and onion stuffing. This leads me to suspect that my prized radio had in fact been oven baked for several hours at gas mark five. It was December after all, and things had been hard at COBRATURKEYWORXSHOPZ. But Plucking, stuffing, basting and cooking people's prized radio's is a step too far.
Also, as part of the modification, Alex said he had done the rare Jentec Tommy Cooper modification. This seems to be clearly evident and the eyes do follow you around the room. But several local stations said I've been had over and taken for a fool. But I know that COBRATURKEYWORXSHOPZ are a legitimate business with a long list of happy clientèle from all over Europe and a glowing feedback report. They even have videos on youtube so who am I to argue with a reputation like that.
So why am I selling this rare Jentec Cobra Turkey BM 3000? Well since my dad found it in my cousins next door neighbours loft (before he died) it's just been sat bored or occasionally pecking the cat. I thought having it modified at COBRATURKEYWORXSHOPX would have calmed it down and made it more user friendly. Unfortunately now it only scares children and pensioners.
I e-mailed Alex once again and he said all the parts needed to get this old bird up and running are easily available on eBay or the poultry section at any leading supermarket.
There will be no returns on this unit, as there are those who will freeze the item until Christmas, defrost, cook and eat portions then attempt to return the item as incomplete.
