Easy to use, have a regular Kindle, but am limited to to what conditions I can read under. With the Paperwhite I can read under any light condition, even total darkness!! No trouble downloading books, from the device or my pc. I'm a fairly recent Kindle user & am totally hooked, sorry I waited so long to join the family!! Best (make that the greatest) bang for my buck!!

Got Kindle Paperwhite since I got Amazon Prime. It's a nice little reader that fits in my pocket but battery life is nothing like I expected from all the hype, I still have to charge it once or twice a week doing a light, hour long reading, every day; I was lead to believe I could go on weeks on a single charge (like at least 2?) Also u can't turn off the back light even in a daylight, just set it low and speaking of it, the screen is uneven lit at the bottom of the page. Also u wouldn't believe how laggy the thing is and I got the 3gs version without ads, even without needing wifi or 3gs, it's "click" and give it 2 or 3 seconds to think about it and do what u wanted it to.

The screen is much crisper than my old kindle touch, and the backlit feature makes a huge difference in adapting to different lighting situations. The 3G is very useful for downloading books without wifi, and for looking things up on wikipedia (unfortunately you can't use the 3G for web browsing).

My mother loves to read, but doesnt do the internet so this 3G version of the Kindle paperwhite is just the ticket for her. I tried it out for a couple days to be able to answer her potential questions and I'd say it's a great little gadget. Easy to read screen, responsive touch screen. It did require a gift or credit card to set up an amazon account even if you're only reading free books. I dont know how long the battery will last as I only used it two days before sending it to mom.

I bought this product because I wanted the best Kindle out there. I have read ebooks on my phone for more than 10 years and I use the Kindle mobile app now, but phone and iPod batteries die too fast when I'm in the middle of reading a book. The touch screen, lit display, claims of no reflective glare, long battery life, and the Kindle free lending library for Amazon Prime members lured me in. I ended up selling mine within a month. I really liked the lit screen, which I could brighten or dim to fit the room lighting. The touch screen was capacitive and very accurate. The screen crispness felt equivalent to my iPod 4 and much better than my iPad 2. The thing that really bugged me was the delay for page turns or scrolling through the home screen. I'm used to my mobile ebook reader apps having either an instantaneous blink between screens or a quick slide. The Kindle Paperwhite animation was a definite blink when turning pages. It took longer than my eyes take to get back to the top of the screen, and it made me think of the kind of blink a phone having errors makes. It felt really slow, and I never found a menu option to see if I could change it to something faster. If someone loves Kindle, this is a nice upgrade as long as you don't need any audio file capabilities (no Audible books on here - no speaker or headphone jack). If you just want a no-glare screen, eBay has lots of inexpensive used older Kindles available. If you need the long battery life, buy a backup battery for your phone. eBay has those, too.Read full review
