VINTAGE LIFE GUARDS/TROOPERS/Cavalry
Please note: This is a historical jacket and not a high street item. It is about 60 years old in RELIC ex military condition. It looks scruffy as it is to be expected. Please do not buy it if you wish to have a new fashion item.
Important: repairs and stains, faiding and mothing are not clearly visible on photos.
Please read description very carefully.
In fair well used condition
Has faded shoulders from the ceremonial armour/breast plate.
The whole jacket is a bit faded - a little less bright than it apears on pictures.
At least 10 repaired (small) moth holes on the outside. Also one long repair at the front (near black piping) and one at the back (between the buttons).
Unfortunately some idiot has removed all the gold ribons from the collar and cuffs. The stitching is still visible. (this could perhaps be re-done??)
Hence the low price. Similar jackets in better condition with the insignia still present cost approx. £190. See item 270752057218 )
BUTTONS are a mixture of life guards, grenadier guards and blues and royals (I think). Stay bright front/brass back. (some still have kings crown)
Made of thick red wool.
No epaulettes. Has stand up collar.
Lining is in rather poor condition. It has at least 20 repaires and has names of at least 4 previous owners written inside!!
Has large WAR DEPATMENT stamp.
Jacket has been dry cleaned.
With original label: Silberston & Sons 1952
