THIS IS MY SECOND COPY SINCE FOR AN OBSCURE REASON I STUCK IT IN THE WASHING MACHINE AND WHEN I GOT BACK FROM DERBYSHIRE A FEW DAYS LATER I REMEMBERED JUST WHERE I HAD STUCK IT - I THINK THE MACHINE LIKED IT - BUT LO AND BEHOLD THE BLIGHTER STILL PLAYED THOUGH THE ARTWORK WAS COMPLETELY "RUINTED" (LIKE A GOOD OL' PAIR OF FIELD-HARVESTER'S DUNG-A-REEEES TROUSER - MANILA HEMP 1936 -- W.S.B.)... SO I LET MY GAL AND ME PUTS OUR MITS ALL OVER THE DELICACY - LIKE IF AND WHEN WE ADOPT AN ELEPHANT - OR MAYBE CHILDS OR GET SURROUNDED BY CANARIES OR EVEN IF I MANAGE TO FLOAT DOWN SOME LONG SLOW RIVER CAREFREE - STILL IDLING AND PONDERING AND JEEST TAKING IT EEEEEEEEEASY I'D BE PLAYING THIS ON SOME PORTABLE ... THING IS I THINK SOMETIME SOMEWHERE SOMEONE GONA PUT THERE STICKY JAM FINGERS ON ITS - SO, WISE TO HAVE A FRESH SHINEY SPARE COPY WHEN THE TECHNOLOGY HASN'T ADVANCED TOO MUCH FOR A WEE HUMHUMHUMBLETON LIKE US TO WORKS IT OUT. THE SHEER CONVICTION OF PASSION THIS LADY SINGS WITH IS ABSOLUTELY IMMENSE - IT WOULD BE A POINTLESS EXCERCISE TO FURTHER TRY TO DESCRIBE THE ARTISTS CONNECTIONS - JUST PURCHASE , SHARE, INSPIRE, etc... kiRead full review
still with the sound of d.c.d but this lady has a voice that takes you to places that only your mind knows has such a gut wrenching feel with rel heart a real must for any dead can dance fan.
To say that I put this at the top of the list of Lisa Gerrard's releases to date is extraodinarily high praise, given that the wonderful music to be found on her other albums. But this one belongs at the top of the list. Her collaboration with Patrick Cassidy, one of Ireland's foremost composers, has produced astonishing ethereal music that will enrich your life. It's a beautiful, moving album of powerful contrasts which sounds stunning on first hearing and goes onto reveal new depths and insights as you come to know it better. If you've heard it, you don't need this review to tell you that. If you haven't, then you should.
this album from 2004 takes us into the ancient spiritual depths - the pairing of the unasailable Lisa Gerrard with Patrick Cassidy's undertones of symphonic explorations is sublime. Wonderful for meditative thought. I play it as an assist for spiritual connection on a daily basis. John Anthony (spiritual teacher and medium)
