With Cupboard, With Mirror, 4 Drawers and Over
Early 20th Century (1911-1940)
This auction is for a lovely oak dressing table that would look super in a 1930's house. It has loads of storage space and a large surface for
all your odds and ends.
It is a medium oak colour and has a wax finish that gives a lovely warm looking sheen - not at all like the ones with a dark brown varnish
that you see quite often. The dresser top is split-level with a semicircle of carved apple motifs. There are three drawers to each side and
two doors to a central bow-fronted cupboard with a single shelf. The base is finished with a fluted, carved band of solid wood.
The quality of this dressing table is demonstrated by the drawer linings that are in solid oak with dovetail joints front and back. The only
use of plywood I can see is to the back panel and the drawer bases.
The large mirror is bevel-edged and measures 30” x 33”. It can be tilted on the two supports at the rear. The handles are original and very
This item has an Arts and Crafts look to it, but I suspect that it is from the 1930’s. Ideal, large impressive and practical piece of furniture for
anyone furnishing a 1930's house. I've owned this dressing table for over 25 years but it no longer goes with the style of my house.
There are a few ink stains to the bottom-left drawer fronts (they never bothered me but I'm sure these could easily be removed). The mirror
plate has some marks to the silvering but it is perfectly useable. All in all, not bad for something that it is over 70 years old.
Height: 62.5” (29” to the main flat surface)
Cash (not cheque) on collection please, alternatively courier collection may be possible, contact me.
The mirror is easily removed for transportation, as are the two wooden support pieces holding it at the rear.
Item located just 20 minutes from M6 junction 12 (Staffordshire).
