for sale my ldv convoy van it is the 320 model that is classed as a 2.8 tonne van and not 3.5 tonne one so it is cheap on insurance and only requires a normal car mot and it does not have to go to a vosa goods vehicle mot station that are a lot more expensive, it is the biggest van I could find in this 2.8 tonne category, because it is the later convoy model it has a ford twin cam 2.0 transit engine and gearbox fitted along with most of the running gear.

it has a factory fitted lpg conversion and because it is all ford mechanicals it has the ford lpg conversion, this comes with a fuel pump in the tank so it does not make the van tick over lumpy when you get down to about a quarter of a tank of lpg, it also has a 110 litre long range lpg fuel tank underneath, you can also start the van up on lpg so there is no need for petrol unless you really have to use some.

the van has mot until January next year so there is about 9 months left on it, the van starts up first time every time even after it has been stood for a while, the engine is very good with no unusual noises or any kind of smoke at all, it does not get hot or overheat, it uses no water or oil, it has only covered 83,000 miles witch is very low for a van, it has 2 captains seats in the front that spin around to face the rear (ideal for picnics etc) and 2 standard seats with 3 point seatbelts in the rear next to the sliding door, the tires are good all round, the battery was replaced about six months ago.

the rear has plywood panels along the sides, it also has a heavy duty roof rack with a ladder rack on it and it has a full width roller to make it easier to load on things onto the roof rack, there is also a ladder on the rear door to get up to the roof rack.

I have only used the van for my very large mobility scooters and my two dogs, and the previous owner who brought it from cardif counsil with 38,000 miles on the clock and he used it as a camper van, he carpeted the rear floor and put the curtain rail up that sits above the rear of the front seats to keep the sun out when you sleep in the back and he fitted the ply board side panels in the back to keep it a bit warmer, so it has never seen a lot of hard work like most cheap vans, this is quite a light van so it is cheap to run, when the gas works again it will get you 110 miles for £10 around town

the bad points about the van are the plastic handle on the drivers side window, the plastic handle that adjusts the seat back has come of the drivers side seat, the heaters only work on the third speed setting and only blow out hot air (but you can turn them of), the van needs a clean out inside (hoover in the back etc if you wish to), the lpg has stopped working now the pump in the lpg tank runs and pressures up the tank but it wont start, there is a small leak on one of the lpg pipes and I cant find any other fault with the lpg side, it runs exelent on petrol and I have driven it over 1500 miles on only petrol now, it has a few scrapes and bumps and scratches around the bodywork along with other age related marks with a few rust marks as seen in the pictures, and it has a few rattles as you drive over pot holes etc, I will have a look around the van tomorrow to see if I have missed anything and to take some pics.

I am looking for a smaller van that my wife can drive preferabally with three seats, I also have the van advertised locally with a swap/px with cash either way on offer so I may have to end the auction early, the van is on sale as sold as seen with no returns offered, I would recommend coming and inspecting the van with a test drive and I would welcome any mechanic to inspect it also.

there is no tax on the van sorry and it runs fine on petrol but when I switch the lpg on you can here the lpg pump inside the lpg fuel tank work for a few seconds and it pressures the tank up and then the pump stops and the van wont start, but as soon as you switch it back onto petrol is starts first time every time, I really don't want to see this van go but my wife cant undo the handbrake lever or park it on the drive so we have got her a car now so I need something a bit smaller to fit on the drive properly.
