Ex army sreries 2 Land Rover built 1960, and dispatched 1961,it was used in the military for 8 years then put out for public use, from what i can see its had very light use. It has been maintained in the old military way at the tax payers expense. Reconditioned army engine that is sweet as a nut, transmission doesn't wine or jump out of gear and performs as new. The axles and drive line are as new, no leaks, wines or rattles. The chassis is in remarkable condition for its age. I have replaced the rear cross member and repaired the front dumb irons as you can see in the photos. These are the first repairs its had in 50 years. The breaks are good and are fitted with a servo, stops quick and pulls up straight. Bulk head is rot free. General body work is very straight for its age with a few layers of paint on it. It has a canvas tilt which would do with a replacement military one or repair it. All electrics work as they should. Basically, its an original, unmolested ex army Land Rover. It has a brand new MOT and obviously a years tax, which is free! it is registered 1970 but that it is easy enough to get a age related plate it is registered 1961 on the mot database as getting a mot without seat belts can be difficult. I have the heritage certificate to prove its birthday (see photo) New parts fitted:

In response to questions, there is no hard top in the sale, but what I do have included are 2 razor edge bonnets, 2 smiths round heaters plus pipework and vents, 1 smiths flat heater, pair of parabolic front springs, petrol starter motor, 1958 dash, 1958 carb and metal pipework, front grille, windscreen with lucas wipers, boxes of electrical switches, bracketry and trim, steering relay, canvas tilt parts.... Please come and have a look/drive, any inspection more than welcome (including up on ramp) to appreciate its original, unmolested state. |
