This is a VERY graphic and horriffic film. I like horrors but this shocked me to the point of thinking there should be a 21 cert rating for films - and this should have it. The story is of a girl that goes with her family to their second home which is out in the middle of no-where on a lake (like most american horror films) she meets up with an old friend from the town and they go out. They end up getting caught by a gang of wanted criminals who then stab the one (very graphic) and rape the other. The rape scene is long and in my opinion should be cut - it is way too graphic and disgusting even for a horror film - it made me feel sick. The girl then escapes and trys to find her way home. The gang then end up finding their way to the closest house which happens to be the girls. Very tense thriller but the horror is far too graphic for my liking.Read full review
I have seen both the old and new versions of this now, The old one was good, but at times had flaws...this is level with the old one i would say. This has a better story to it, but the old one has a more scarey villans in the story and the bit where she goes missing on the old version i felt the parents were more concerned. The new one has the girl getting home which i liked more than the knecklace (only) telling them that something happend. Also i felt the son was put to use more in this story !! I would say see both, this is the first time i have liked both the original and re-make of a movie. Probabaly because they both have Wes Craven as the director !
