What is Lightscribe?

LightScribe is an optical disc recording technology that uses specially coated recordable CD and DVD media to produce laser-etched labels with text or graphics, as opposed to stick-on labels and printable discs.

The purpose of LightScribe is to allow users to create direct-to-disc labels (as opposed to stick-on labels), using our LightScribe DVD Writer. Before or after burning data to the read-side of the disc, the user turns the disc over and inserts it with the label side down. The drive's laser then etches into the label side in such a way that an image is produced.
  • You can burn and play your Videos, Games, Movies, Music CDs and DVDs On Single Layer & Dual Layer DVD Disks.
  • It will work on any Laptop, Netbook, Notebook, and Desktop PCs like Dell, Apple, SONY, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Advent, Acer, IBM, Compaq, All Mini Laptop. 
  • You can Write, Burn, & Play DVDs (Single Layer as well as Dual Layer) and CDs.(Also works on old PII PIII P4 Laptops and PCs with usb 1.1)
  • Extra cable provided for using it with USB 1.1 but Your Laptop or PC must have working USB ports
