For sale is a Lighweight 14 speed Aluminium Racing Bike which has recently (last couple of years) been refurbished by Argos Cycles of Bristol. (Not Argos as in the Catalogue!) www.argoscycles.com
I do not know what the original make was but it would have been a very high spec bike in its day which I guess would have been around 15 years ago. The frame and forks are aluminium and painted a lovely metallic blue colour. The sizing is as follows - Top Tube 56cm, Seat Tube 54cm c-c, 58cm c-t. This size of bike would suit someone between 5'9" and 6'1" (My Height). I would guess the bike weighs around the 9kg mark although I don't have scales accurate enough to weigh it properly. The gear shifters (Downtube), brakes and brake levers are Shimano 105, the Chainset and front mech are Shimano 600, the equivalent of modern Ultegra and the rear mech is a new Shimano Sora one. All of this works together nicely with no problems. This was very high spec kit prior to the introduction of handlebar mounted STI shifters. The bike comes with a pair of Shimano SPD pedals. Other nice features on the bike include: Stronglight Headset - could do with a slight tightening Cinelli Giro d'Italia Handlebars and matching stem Hand built front wheel - Mavic rim on Campagnolo Hub. The bike is a pleasure to ride - all the kit works nicely and the frame transfers power well even by modern standards. It is also more comfortable to ride than my current Carbon Race bike. It would make a perfect bike for commuting or winter training, or even for riding across town. I am only selling it because I have 4 bikes and am moving house so don't have the room to keep them all! Collection is welcome from Exeter or I will post fully insured for £22 in a cardboard bike bok. Any questions please ask. |
