Takamine (Hirade) No 30

The guitar was manufactured in 1985. As far as I know, this guitar doesn’t match any Takamine classical model that has ever been distributed in USA.  It has been distributed in Japan and several other countries.

It is a confirmed fact that all classical guitar production at Takamine factory in late 1970ties and 1980ties was supervised by Masaru Kohno. There are some uncofirmed rumors, that when in 1968 Mass Hirade left Masaru Kohno's workshop to join "not that very famous at that time" Takamine co. Masaru became at least partial owner of Takamine and was involved in managing its operations since. It is well confirmed fact that Masaru Kohno was one of the wealthiest and influential people in Japan. For example, talented players who purchased Masaru Kohno's guitar were making their stage career much easier than other players.

This particular guitar has no signs of usage of any kind. It is truly like new. It has one small mark on its top (if you use magnifying glass you'll see many more), but still I won’t describe it any other way but as being in mint condition. This guitar produces clear, sweet, resonant, well balanced notes at very decent volume and with great sustain. It is also very responsive. All these traits are associated with Jacaranda (or similar Latin America Rosewood) used for its back and sides. With current action (possible to set thanks to perfect neck/body angle) it is super easy to play. In addition is has very comfortable neck, slimmer than on C132S model.

Specifications:

Solid Yezo Spruce Top with Fan Bracing and dark Amber lacquer

Laminated Jacaranda (-like) Rosewood Back & Sides

Dark Indian Rosewood Fingerboard

This fingerboard is well hardened and smoothed. It has the same feel like Ebony.  It could also be mistaken for Indian Ebony. But it is not Ebony.

Mahogany Neck

Width at Nut: 51.5 mm

Natural Color & Gloss Finish

Gold Plated Tuning Machines

Rosewood Bridge

Bone Nut and saddle

Scale 650 mm

Gold-die Cast with Pearl Buttons Tuning machines

Action is set to 3.50 mm under E6 and 3.00 mm under E1. There is enough room on the saddle for experiments with lower action, that you can do by yourself.

As already very (too) experienced seller I have to add this official statement:

For some “heavy handed” players such action maybe too low to avoid any buzzes. In such case the solution a higher saddle. Final set up is your responsibility. If you don’t know how to do it, you will have to visit your local luthier and pay for it.

Guitar will be shipped in brand new black Musician’s Gear hard shell case.

ONE OF A KIND 1990 TAKAMINE HIRADE NO.30 CLASSICAL GUITAR IN MINT CONDITION (#200966574386)

Returns

If you are not happy with your purchase you may return the guitar for a full refund. All you need to do is to:

1.    Notify me within 5 days after delivery

2.    Pack guitar the same way I do it, using the same box and materials

3.    Ship it back to me within next 2 days

Another words I expect this “trail” period to occur within +/- 7 days. Naturally guitar has to be returned in the same condition as I ship it to you. This is simply honest offer for honest buyers. My goal is to make your purchase as risk free as possible. I know very well that spending $1000 of hard earned money is not emotionally easy undertaking for majority of guitar lovers. I am sure that reading my feedback can ease a bit your “purchase anxiety” but it still will be there no matter how hard I try. Please believe me I have been “in your shoes” many times before.

Victor
