MAMOD SE3 S.E.3. Twin cylinder superheated steam
engine meccano We have for sale a MAMOD steam engine and one accessory. This appears to be a polishing wheel which would be belt driven. I do not have the belt. The polisher is also made by Mamod. I think the engine will date from the early 1960s or there about. I have not tested it, but it did work the last time I used it in the mid 1980’s. I would have to say I am selling it as spare or repairs only, because I can’t say it is working. All of the valves move and the wheel spins, so given the basic nature of the machine i can’t see why it would not work. The detachable funnel is missing. A new one can be brought online. The burner is included, but is also in a used condition. The base is pre-drilled to fit Meccano and is also in need of some love. The boiler looks fine but is smoke stained and could do with a clean. I do not have any more than is shown in the photo. There is no box, instructions or any spare parts. I would say that this model is well used.
