THE MARKETS OF YORKSHIRE.
CONDITION: VIRTUALLY AS NEW.
HUTTON 64 PAGES WITH BLACK & WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS AND LINE DRAWINGS.
For more local history and other fiction and non-fiction books please see My Other Items – I willingly combine postage to save a little cash.
The book is an alphabetical guide to over 90 markets in the Yorkshire area, i.e. the Old Yorkshire Ridings’ boundaries, and not those of local government reorganization of 1974! The author attempts to provide the reader with the ‘flavour’ of each market, with details of its history and buildings; the types of goods sold on various market days; the approximate number of stalls, and so on. Cattle markets are also listed, where they exist. The book is illustrated with 20 or so line drawings and photographs and given the publication date a fine source for local historian and those with a connection alike.

‘CONDITION’. The vast majority of the books I sell are non-fiction,second hand and used and therefore generally of more interest for the contents rather than the condition. I genuinely try and describe the condition of books as accurately as I can and attempt to err on the side of caution and can honestly claim I have had complaints twice (and out of thousands that’s not bad). I would never try and mislead anyone, it is often the case where with rare or specialist books for the student that condition is absolutely immaterial, on the other hand I would hate anyone to think that my books are new and be disappointed. A lot of the books are in as new, excellent or unread condition, some may not be so but, whatever the condition, I genuinely try to decribe them accurately.
