Medal for Long Service (Nishani ya Utumishi Mrefu), Army issue, with ribbon bar, in original fitted embossed case of issue by Spink and Son, London
Circular gilt metal medal with ribbon bar; the face with a circular central green enamel medallion bearing the polychrome Torch of Kilimanjaro within a gilt ring inscribed ‘NISHANI YA UTUMISHI MREFU TANZANIA’ (Medal for Long Service Tanzania); the reverse plain; on original Army-issue ribbon with brooch bar mounted for wear; with a ribbon bar mounted for wear; in original fitted embossed case of issue by Spink and Son, London. The Medal was instituted by President Julius Kambarage Nyerere on 1 March 1975 to be awarded for twenty years’ loyal service.
