You are viewing a sewing pattern for a Medieval Monk’s Robe or Habit.
The pattern consists of a long, loose- fitting, belted robe with medieval style sleeves. This can be full / ground length or three quarter length (as in the photograph). The cowl / hood is attached to the cape, and is worn over the robe.
Ideal for re – enactment or fancy dress.
The photograph shows the shorter version of the pattern, made up in poly cotton. This is ideal for fancy dress.
For a more authentic medieval 'look', a heavier fabric is usually necessary.

I am a dressmaker, and have designed numerous sewing patterns. These are all tried and tested. I created this sewing pattern after a friend recently asked me to make him a monk’s habit for a fancy dress party, and I was shocked by how difficult it is to obtain a reasonably - priced pattern.
