Lovely book suitable for adults and children. It is well illustrated and describes the deep sadness we feel when a loved one dies in clear and easy to understand ways. I gave it to my grandson who has been quietly grieving ever since he lost his Aunty Sarah last year - she is also my youngest daughter, and we both found comfort in this sweet story by Micheal Rosen.

Fabulous book. I heard about it via various posts when grieving and was surprised I hadn’t heard of it as I’m an avid reader of all kinds of books. It’s such a powerful, sad, happy, consoling and gives every person the power to be what they want and feel what they want and not have the added stress of thinking it’s just them. It shows how we all grieve in different ways. How we can be both happy and sad. It’s just a most wonderful piece of writing and the accompanying art work from Quentin Blake is superb.

I love Michael Rosen. This book is for children. Although it does cover emotions and circumstances we all go through in a a simple no nonsense way. It’s really showing us it’s ok to feel sad and not to bury our feelings. Life is sometimes sad and it’s about living through it and sometimes with it. It’s part of life.

This covers what is a difficult subject, death, dying, and missing people who are no longer here, in a gentle way which is most helpful for the younger reader. Written by someone who has complete understanding of the subject and knows who he is writing for.
